EU Cookies Regulations
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your computer so that the information contained within a cookie may be returned to the website later.
IOV makes use of cookies to carry an authentication token and other information which is used to grant the appropriate access rights and facilities to your account on the site.
We use these once you register with the site to allow us to personalise our service to you.
When enabling cookies from www.iov.co.uk only basic information is stored locally on your machine to allow us to remember basic information from all visitors to our site along with standard encrytped login information. No personal or tracking data is used by the IOV website in the acceptence of cookies.
By allowing the IOV website to store cookies on your machine you remain perfectly safe. This new legislation was put into place on 26th May 2011 and is due to become a requirement by the Information Commissioners Office later this year.
Note: If you opt not to allow a cookie to be stored (eg via your browser settings), you will not be able to login to the system, and thus cannot participate in any discussion or 'restricted access' areas. We use a test cookie during the login process to check if you are able to accept cookies so we can alert you about this.
