PPL Private Function Video/DVD Licences through the IOV
| What do the PPL Licenses allow me to
do? | ||
| The IOV grants licenses in the UK on behalf of PPL for the dubbing of sound recordings onto video tapes and DVDs of weddings, christenings, bar mitzvahs and other family, domestic and private functions, subject to terms and conditions and provided the appropriate licence fees are paid. These are in the form of holographic stickers which are attached to the videotape or DVD case (please do not attach to DVD face as this may cause playback errors). |  | |
The licence does not limit the number of sound recordings to be dubbed and it covers both music edited post production (i.e. the bride and groom’s favourite song) or picked up incidentally (e.g. from a disco). No distinction is made between whether a videotape/DVD is a master or a copy. | ||

| How much do these licenses cost? Each licence costs £3.40 plus VAT. They are sold in multiples of 5 licenses. | ||

| Why do I have to buy 5? This is subject to PPL’s minimum licence fee. This will provide you with five PPL stickers. These are not dated and they will not expire once you have purchased them . | ||

| Can I buy more than 5? Yes - The licence is not dated, so you could buy a year's worth of licenses (or more) and use them as and when (they will not expire). You are free to re-apply for a licence at any time throughout the year should you require further cover. | ||

YOUR LICENSES ONLINE NOW!!! First of all, please carefully read the terms and conditions on the licence application attached at the bottom of this article. Then simply click on the 'Add to Basket' botton opposite the number of licenses you wish to order. We can accept all major credit and debit cards. As soon as we have received confirmation of your payment we will dispatch your PPL licence stickers (normally within 3 to 5 working days) along with a VAT receipt. | Ordering your licences by post If you would like to apply for a private function video/DVD dubbing licences by post, simply complete and return the application attached to the bottom of this article. Once we have received your completed application and payment, we will dispatch your PPL licence stickers (normally within 3 to 5 working days) along with a receipt. |

You will still require a MCPS Limited Manufacture Licence to enable you to record the music and lyrics (performed live, recorded or dubbed) - which is the licence that the minister at the wedding venue will require proof of.
